葡萄糖-6磷酸脱氢酶（G6PD）缺陷症
贫血
肾脏疾病

你应该如何给予你的孩子这种药物？
只要你的孩子的医生或药剂师告诉你，给予你的孩子呋喃妥因，即使你的孩子似乎好转。当你出于任何原因停止给予呋喃妥因之前，告知你的孩子的医生。
每天在同一时间，给予你的孩子呋喃妥因。选择对于方便的时间，以便你不会错过的剂量。
为了帮助避免胃部不适，与一些食物或牛奶一起给予呋喃妥因。
可以吞咽整个片剂，或压碎或折断片剂，并与食物混合。
如果你的孩子使用长效胶囊（MacroBID®），应该整体吞咽胶囊。不要打开、碾碎或咀嚼长效胶囊。
如果你的孩子服用液体呋喃妥因，用特别的勺或药剂师给你的注射器测量剂量。
在给予你的孩子每个剂量之前，充分地摇匀液体呋喃妥因。

如果你的孩子错过了一个剂量，你应该怎么做？
一旦想起来，马上补服错过的剂量。
如果几乎是下一个用药的时间，跳过错过的剂量。在正常的时间给予下一个剂量。
不要给予你的孩子两个剂量来弥补一个错过的剂量。

这种药物需要多长时间开始起作用？
在你的孩子开始好转之前，这可能需要大约2天（48小时）的时间。

这种药物的可能的副作用是什么？
当你的孩子使用呋喃妥因时，他或她可能有一些副作用。如果你的孩子继续有任何下面副作用，而且它们没有消失，或者它们烦扰你的孩子，与你的孩子的医生或肾脏门诊部护士联系：
腹泻
排气
恶心或呕吐
尿液呈橙色或褐色变色
下面大多数的副作用都是不常见的，但它们可能是一个严重问题的征兆。如果你的孩子有任何以下这些副作用，立刻给你的孩子的医生或肾脏病门诊部护士打电话，或带你的孩子去急诊：
吞咽困难或呼吸困难
面部、嘴、手或脚肿胀
荨麻疹
尿或大便中有血
严重水样腹泻
严重腹部疼痛
当你的孩子使用这种药物时，你应该采取什么安全措施？
在你的孩子有任何手术，包括牙科手术或紧急治疗，告诉医生或牙医，你的孩子正在服用呋喃妥因。
在给予你的孩子任何其它药物（处方药、非处方药、草药，或天然产品）之前，与你的孩子的医生或药剂师协商。
不要在给予制酸剂的同一时间，给予呋喃妥因，因为呋喃妥因可能无法正常起作用。相反，在给予呋喃妥前一小时，或者后两小时，给予制酸剂。
呋喃妥因可能导致你的孩子的尿液呈深橙色到褐色。这是正常的，当你的孩子停止服用呋喃妥因时，这些会消失。你的孩子并不需要因为这个看医生。

保留一个列有你的孩子正在使用的所有药物的清单，向医生或药剂师出示这个清单。
不要将你的孩子的药物与其他人共享。不要给予你的孩子任何其他人的药物。
呋喃妥因液体必须由药房配制。
把呋喃妥因（片剂、胶囊、液体）保存在室温下阴凉干燥避免阳光照射的地方。不要把药物储存在卫生间或厨房。
不保留任何已经过期的药物。与你的药剂师协商扔掉过期或剩余药品的最佳方式。
把呋喃妥因保存在你的孩子看不见和接触不到的地方，并锁在一个安全的地方。

How does MacroBid work? What will it do for me?
Nitrofurantoin belongs to the class of medications called antibiotics. It is used for the treatment of urinary tract infections or bladder infections caused by certain types of bacteria. It helps to eliminate the symptoms of urinary tract infections such as burning, pain, frequent urination, and a constant urge to urinate.

Your doctor may have suggested this medication for conditions other than the ones listed in these drug information articles. If you have not discussed this with your doctor or are not sure why you are taking this medication, speak to your doctor. Do not stop taking this medication without consulting your doctor.

Do not give this medication to anyone else, even if they have the same symptoms as you do. It can be harmful for people to take this medication if their doctor has not prescribed it.

How should I use MacroBid?
The recommended dose of this medication for adults and children over 12 years old is 100 mg twice daily. Nitrofurantoin should be taken with food or milk to reduce the risk of stomach upset.

Many things can affect the dose of medication that a person needs, such as body weight, other medical conditions, and other medications. If your doctor has recommended a dose different from the ones listed here, do not change the way that you are taking the medication without consulting your doctor.

It is very important that this medication be taken exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Finish all of this medication, even if you start to feel better. If you miss a dose, take it as soon as possible and continue on with your regular schedule. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue on with your regular dosing schedule. Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one.

Do not dispose of medications in wastewater (e.g. down the sink or in the toilet) or in household garbage. Ask your pharmacist how to dispose of medications that are no longer needed or have expired.

What form(s) does MacroBid come in?
Each opaque, black and yellow, hard shell gelatin capsule, imprinted "Macrobid" on the black portion and "Norwich Eaton" on the yellow portion contains the equivalent of 100 mg of nitrofurantoin in the form of nitrofurantoin macrocrystals and nitrofurantoin monohydrate. Nonmedicinal ingredients: carbomer 934P, compressible sugar, corn starch, D&C Yellow No. 10, edible gray ink, FD&C Blue No. 1, FD&C Red No. 40, gelatin, lactose, magnesium stearate, povidone, talc, and titanium dioxide.

Some medications may have other generic brands available. Always ask your doctor or pharmacist about the safety of switching between brands of the same medication.

Who should NOT take MacroBid?
This medication should not be used by:
anyone with a significantly reduced kidney function pregnant women during labour and delivery, or when the onset of labour is imminent infants under one month of age anyone allergic to nitrofurantoin or to any of the ingredients of the medication
