Epadel containing the active ingredient ethyl icosapentate is a type of omega 3 fatty acid that is considered an antilipemic or lipid regulating agent. The medication works by decreasing the amount of triglycerides produced in the body. It can be used along with a low fat low cholesterol diet, a proper exercise program and weight loss to lower fats in the blood. How is Epadel 300 used? Epadel is usually taken orally 2 times per day or as directed by a doctor. To prevent an upset stomach, the capsules should be taken with a meal along with a glass of water or milk. Contact a doctor for correct dosage as it will depend on the patient�s condition and their response to the medication. Swallow the capsules whole and not dissolved, crushed, chewed or split.
