尿路結石的最新預防治療劑
Urocit-kâ是一種檸檬酸鉀的緩慢釋放型製劑，經由臨床研究結果發現, 在低檸檬酸尿結石的病人, 服用Urocit-kâ可以增加尿中的pH, 鉀離子和檸檬酸。
而在正常的志願者, Urocit-kâ發揮了它緩慢釋出的特性, 因為它能穩定地提昇尿中的pH值和鉀離子達8小時, 提昇檸檬酸濃度更幾乎達24小時。

在試驗過程中, 並沒有明顯的併發症, 諸如腸胃道或心肺機能的不適。
 
所以本研究的結論是Urocit-kâ是一種檸檬酸鉀的優良製劑, 同時也是預防尿石復發的良好選擇。
 
Urocit-kâ亦經由其他國內外臨床報告顯示檸檬酸為抑制尿路結石形成之因子，使用Urocit-K可以增加尿中pH值，鉀離子和檸檬酸，並發揮緩慢釋出的特性，減少可能之併發症，本院臨床亦顯示同樣結果，在實驗過程中無明顯的併發症，副作用非常小。所以依臨床研究結論Urocit-K的緩釋特性能穩定增加urinary citrate之排泄，而無一般製劑之週期，起伏變動，為防止尿結石復發，提供良好選擇。
Urocit-KÒ克石聖錠主治下述各症狀之預防及再發：
l   有鈣石症之腎小管酸中毒症。
l   任何病因引起的低檸檬草酸鈣腎結石症。
l   有或沒有鈣石之尿酸腎石症。 
Urocit-K之治療目標為提供足夠劑量以恢復正常尿液中檸檬酸鹽之濃度(大於320mg/day，盡量接近正常值640mg/day)，並提昇pH值至6.0~7.0。 
劑量：依照醫師指示，一般用法為一天兩次，每次一至二顆
注意事項：服用Urocit-K需限制鹽分之攝取，並鼓勵攝取大量液體。 
副作用：部份患者曾有輕微胃腸不適的抱怨，可以降低劑量或與食物併服來減輕症狀。

How does Urocit®-K work?
The potassium citrate in Urocit®-K works partly by restoring the naturally occurring chemicals that block the formation of stones.
Urocit®-K normalizes the urinary environment so that calcium stone formation is inhibited and crystals don't form.
Urocit®-K also reduces the tendency of uric acid to form stones. Most patients with this type of stone, when treated with Urocit®-K, do not form stones at all. In those who still form stones, the stones develop at a lower rate than before treatment.
The wax matrix system
Urocit®-K contains potassium citrate in a wax-matrix tablet. This wax-matrix system delivers a slow, sustained release of medication which allows for less frequent dosing — once in the morning and once at night, or as prescribed by your physician.
Also, the slow-release tablets are better tolerated than liquid preparations so there is less stomach upset.
The wax-matrix tablets, unlike powder forms, offer the added convenience of not having to be reconstituted with water. And, there are no bottles of liquid to break or spill.
