日前，英国研究人员发现，一种新型非甾体类抗炎药Axorid，在缓解疼痛的同时还能防止胃溃疡及出血，给患者带来双重功效。

这种药物名为Axorid的新药，瑞典Meda制药公司研制的新型复方制剂，主要由酮洛芬和奥美拉唑组成。Axorid已于今年年初，在英国获准用于治疗骨关节炎、风湿性关节炎和强直性脊柱炎。

胃出血是非甾体类抗炎药(NSAID)最常见的不良反应之一。每年因服用NSAID而导致肠胃出血的患者达4000例左右，其中700人死亡。

爱丁堡大学肝脏病学教授及皇家医院荣誉顾问医师皮特•海耶斯表示，将NSADI和PPI同时使用是减少用药副作用和保护胃部的惯用方法，但患者经常忘记或不愿意同时使用两种药物，因此将这两种成分基于一体可以增强患者对药物的依从度，也是一种实用有效的方法。

Axorid的正式上市，将为那些需要长期服用NSAID的患者提供一种性能更全面的“武器”，既能发挥非甾体类抗炎药的治病功效，又能有效防治其不良反应。

What patients should know about Axorid^®。

What is Axorid^®?

Axorid^® is a medicine that contains two active ingredients called ketoprofen and omeprazole. Ketoprofen is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory (NSAID) agent which reduces inflammation and pain. Omeprazole is a gastroprotector which help to protect your stomach from the gastrointestinal problems that non-steroidal anti-inflammatory agent may produce to certain patients.

Axorid^® is used for treating the symptoms of osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis or ankylosing spondylitis, protecting the stomach at the same time.

How to take Axorid^®?

You must take only one capsule of Axorid^® daily, approximately at the same time.

Axorid^® capsules should always be swallowed whole (not chewed or crushed) with a glass of water. They should also be taken with food (eg. with breakfast, lunch or dinner).

Axorid^® comes in two strengths containing 100 mg/20 mg and 200 mg/20 mg of ketoprofen/omeprazole. The dose you have been prescribed is the one that your doctor has considered adequate taking into account the severity of your symptoms. The maximum daily dose is one 200 mg/20 mg capsule daily. Do not exceed this dose. If you mistakenly take more Axorid^® than you should, please contact your doctor or pharmacist.

If you forget to take Axorid^®, take it as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, do not take a double dose to make up for forgotten individual doses, just take the next dose on time.

This medicine has been prescribed for you. Do not pass it on to others. It may harm them, even if their symptoms are the same as yours.

Side effects

Like all medicines, Axorid^® can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. Common side effects (probably affecting less than 10% of people) are sleepiness/drowsiness, trouble sleeping, dizziness, headache and gastrointestinal effects.
