适应症
本品为半合成第二代头孢菌素，特点为对革兰阴性菌有较强的抗菌作用，具有高度抗β内酰胺酶性质。抗菌谱包括大肠杆菌、肺炎杆菌、吲哚阳性的变形杆菌和沙雷氏菌、克雷白杆菌、流感杆菌、沙门菌、志贺菌等。对葡萄球菌和多种链球菌也有较好作用。临床主要用于敏感菌所致的呼吸道感染、心内膜炎、腹膜炎、肾盂肾炎、尿路感染、败血症以及骨、关节、皮肤和软组织等感染。
用法用量
成人1g～2g/次，3～4次/日，重症1日量可达12g；儿童(2岁以上)每日80mg～160mg/kg，分3～4次。肌注可用0.5%利多卡因注射液作溶剂。静注可将本品1g用10ml注射用水或生理盐水溶解，缓慢推注。如需静滴，可用生理盐水、葡萄糖注射液或0.167mol/L乳酸钠注射液溶解释。

不良反应
1.过敏反应皮疹发生率约2%，有时有胃肠道反应、白细胞减少、氮血症及转氨酶升高等。
2.主要由肾排泄，偶可引起肾功能损害，对肾功能不全者应减量。
3.与青霉素有时有交叉变态反应，对青霉素过敏者应慎用。对头孢菌素类过敏者应禁用。
注意事项
1.参见头孢噻吩。
2.本品与多数头孢菌素均有拮抗作用，联合应用可致抗菌疗效减弱。

What is this medicine?
CEFOXITIN (se FOX i tin) is a cephalosporin antibiotic. It is used to treat or prevent certain kinds of bacterial infections. It will not work for colds, flu, or other viral infections.
How should I use this medicine?
This medicine is injected into a muscle, or infused through a vein. It is usually given by a health care professional in a hospital or clinic setting.
If you get this medicine at home, you will be taught how to prepare and give this medicine. Use exactly as directed. Take your medicine at regular intervals. Do not take your medicine more often than directed.
It is important that you put your used needles and syringes in a special sharps container. Do not put them in a trash can. If you do not have a sharps container, call your pharmacist or healthcare provider to get one.
Talk to your pediatrician regarding the use of this medicine in children. Special care may be needed.
What side effects may I notice from receiving this medicine?
Side effects that you should report to your doctor or health care professional as soon as possible:
•allergic reactions like skin rash, itching or hives, swelling of the face, lips, or tongue
•dark urine
•difficulty breathing, wheezing
•fever
•low blood pressure
•pain or difficulty passing urine
•redness, blistering, peeling or loosening of the skin, including inside the mouth
•seizures
•unusual bleeding, bruising
•unusually weak or tired
•yellowing of eyes, skin
Side effects that usually do not require medical attention (report to your doctor or health care professional if they continue or are bothersome):
•diarrhea
•nausea, vomiting
•pain, swelling and irritation at the injection site
•stomach pain
•vaginal itch, irritation
What may interact with this medicine?
This medicine may interact with the following medications:
•birth control pills
•certain medicines for infection like amikacin, gentamicin, tobramycin
What if I miss a dose?
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you can. If it is almost time for your next dose, take only that dose. Do not take double or extra doses.
Where should I keep my medicine?
Keep out of the reach of children.
You will be instructed on how to store this medicine. Throw away any unused medicine after the expiration date on the label.
What should I tell my health care provider before I take this medicine?
They need to know if you have any of these conditions:
•kidney disease
•myasthenia gravis
•stomach, intestinal problems like colitis
•an unusual or allergic reaction to cefoxitin, cephalosporin or penicillin antibiotics, other medicines, foods, dyes, or preservatives
•pregnant or trying to get pregnant
•breast-feeding
What should I watch for while using this medicine?
Tell your doctor or health care professional if your symptoms do not begin to improve or if you get new symptoms. Your doctor will monitor your condition and blood work as needed.
Do not treat diarrhea with over-the-counter products. Contact your doctor if you have diarrhea that lasts more than 2 days or if the diarrhea is severe and watery.
This medicine can interfere with some urine glucose tests. If you use such tests, talk with your health care professional.
