S-Etodolac

Therapeutic category: NSAID
Composition: Each extended release tablet contains S-Etodolac … 200 mg / 300 mg
Indication: Osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis
Dose (adults): 1 tablet once daily (swallowed whole with a glass of water)
Advantages:
S-Etodolac is the active NSAID component of Etodolac
S-Etodolac has potency at least twice that of racemate
Therapeutically active S-Etodolac has greater concentrations in synovial fluid than plasma
Avoids isomer interactions in binding to albumin
Administration of half the dose of racemate
Less metabolic load
