These help neutralize or reduce stomach acid (antacid). Some formulas also contain simethicone, which helps treat the gassy, bloated feeling (antigas). Maalox has been used in relief of indigestion, heartburn, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), and stomach or duodenal ulcers.
