药理作用:
本品为抗胆碱药，作用和应用类似于苯海索。另外还具有抗组胺和局麻作用。临床应用于帕金森病和各种原因，包括利血平、吩噻嗪类药物引起的帕金森症状，疗效优于苯海索。
功能主治：
有抗胆碱、抗组胺和局麻作用。用于震颤麻痹及药物引起的锥体外系反应综合征。可改善肌强直和震颤。
用法用量：
开始时，每日睡前服0.5～1mg，以后每日可增至2～6mg，分3次服。必要时震颤麻痹患者可肌注或静注每日1～2mg；药物诱发锥体外系反应患者可肌注或静注每日1～4mg，分1～2次
不良反应：
不良反应与苯海索相似。偶尔可引起严重的精神紊乱和不安，此时须停药。
注意事项：
(1)老年病人可能更敏感。(2)3岁以上儿童剂量因病情而定

本品由肠道吸收，作用时间较长，有蓄积。

Benztropine mesylate is a crystalline white powder, very soluble in water, and has a molecular weight of 403.54. COGENTIN* (Benztropine Mesylate) is supplied as a sterile injection for intravenous and intramuscular use.
Each milliliter of the injection contains:

Sodium chloride ...............9 mg
