適應症
Severe forms of psoriasis & disorders of keratinization.
用量
Adult Initially 25 mg (one 25 mg cap) or 30 mg (three 10 mg cap) daily for 2-4 weeks. Maintenance: 25-50 mg for 6-8 weeks. Max: 75 mg/day. Children 0.5 mg/kg/day. Max: 35 mg/day.

Should be taken with food (Take w/ main meals or w/ a glass of milk.).

Category X: Studies in animals or human beings have demonstrated foetal abnormalities or there is evidence of foetal risk based on human experience or both, and the risk of the use of the drug in pregnant women clearly outweighs any possible benefit. The drug is contraindicated in women who are or may become pregnant.
禁忌
Pregnancy. Women of childbearing potential (strict contraception 4 weeks before, during & 2 years after treatment). Donation of blood is prohibited during & for 1 year after completion of treatment. Severe hepatic/renal impairment. Chronic abnormally elevated blood lipid values. Co-administration with tetracyclines, methotrexate, etretinate, vit A or other retinoids. Hypersensitivity to other retinoids.
注意事項
Women of childbearing age should avoid alcohol consumption during & 2 month after cessation of therapy. Monitor hepatic function, serum cholesterol & triglycerides, blood sugar levels. especially in high risk patients (lipid metabolism disorder, diabetes, obesity, alcoholism). Perform periodic exam for possible ossification abnormalities in adults on long-term treatment. Monitor growth parameters & bone development in children. May impair ability to drive or operate machinery. Low dose progestogens is not suitable for contraception during treatment. Avoid in lactation.
不良反應
Hypervitaminosis A syndrome (dry lips, mucous membrane transitional epithelial), nosebleeds, rhinitis, ocular disturbances, cheilitis, rhagades of the corner of the mouth, dry mouth, thirst, stomatitis, gingivitis, taste disturbances, vulvo-vaginitis due to Candida albicans, thinning of skin & scaling, sticky skin, dermatitis, erythema, pruritus, hair loss, nail fragility, paronychia, bullous eruption, abnormal hair texture; muscle, joint & bone pain; peripheral edema, flushing. Severe headache, nausea, vomiting & visual disturbances (discontinue treatment).
