Active ingredient: Mitiglinide calcium hydrate Voglibose Dosage form: pale red tablet, major axis: 10.0 mm, minor axis: 5.0 mm, thickness 3.0 mm Print on wrapping: グルベス配合錠 糖尿病用薬 MV 食直前に服用 GLUBES Effects of this medicine This medicine stimulates insulin secretion, and by blocking the enzyme α-glucosidase that degrades carbohydrates to glucose, delays glucose absorption from the small intestine which enables it to control the elevation of blood-glucose level after meal (postprandial hyperglycemia) and improve glycemic control. It is usually used to treat type 2 diabetes. Before using this medicine, be sure to tell your doctor and pharmacist •If you have ever experienced any allergic reaction (itch, rash etc.) to any medicine. If you are a patient with ketosis, diabetic coma or precoma, type 1 diabetes, infection, hepatic or renal dysfunction, heart disease, undergone a laparotomy, experienced bowel obstruction, Roemheld syndrome, intestinal disorder, pituitary gland malfunction, adrenal gland dysfunction or gastrointestinal disorder. If you are in pre/postoperative period. If you are injured, starving, state of malnutrition or debility, or an alcohol consumer. If you engage in intense muscular exercise. •If you are pregnant or breastfeeding. •If you are taking any other medicinal products. (Some medicines may interact to enhance or diminish medicinal effects. Beware of over-the-counter medicines and dietary supplements as well as other prescription medicines.) Dosing schedule (How to take this medicine) •Your dosing schedule prescribed by your doctor is <<to be written by a healthcare professional>> •General dosage regimen: For adults, take 1 tablet at a time, 3 times a day, just before (within 5 minutes) meals. Strictly follow the instructions of your doctor/pharmacist. •If you have already started meal, skip the missed dose and continue your regular dosing schedule. DO NOT take double doses to make up for the missed dose. •If you took too much of the medicine (more than ordered), check with your doctor/pharmacist. •Do not stop taking the medicine without the instructions of your doctor. Precautions while taking this medicine •Strictly adhere to dietary instructions given and to kinesitherapy prescribed. •The medicine may cause you to have hypoglycemic symptoms such as dizziness or light-headedness. Pay attention when you drive, work at heights, or operate dangerous machinery while taking it. •If you have hypoglycemic symptoms, take glucose not sucrose or something containing enough glucose such as soft drink. Possible adverse reactions to this medicine Common side effects are reported as below. If any of them occurs, check with your doctor/pharmacist: symptoms of hypoglycemia, enlarged feeling of abdomen, numbness, abdominal pain, increased flatus, weight increase, etc. The symptoms described below are rarely seen as initial symptoms of the adverse reactions indicated in brackets. If any of these symptoms occur, stop taking this medicine and see your doctor immediately. •pressured feeling or constrictive pain in chest, cold sweat [myocardial infarction] •dizziness, abnormal craving for food, tremor in limbs [hypoglycemia] •abdominal distension,meteorism, increased flatus[bowel obstruction] •general malaise, loss of appetite, yellowing of skin or conjunctiva [fulminant hepatitis, hepatic dysfunction, jaundice ] •constipatin, faint consciousness, jadgment failure[disturbance of consciousness due to exacerbation of heperammonemia in patients with liver cirrhosis] The above symptoms do not describe all the adverse reactions to this medicine.
