本品中和胃酸作用强，较慢但持久。主要用于胃酸过多症、消化性溃疡及反流性食管炎等，尤适用于伴有便秘的患者。本品能影响磷的吸收，低磷血症患者慎用。长期给药会导致血钾浓度下降。
药理作用
本品抗酸作用较碳酸氢钠强，缓慢而持久，不产生二氧化碳。与胃酸作用生成氯化镁，放出镁离子，刺激肠道蠕动。有轻泻作用。
适应证
1.用于伴有便秘的胃酸过多症、胃溃疡及十二指肠溃疡。
2.还可用作缓泻剂。
禁忌证
肾功能不全、腹痛、恶心、呕吐、腹泻、大便阻塞、肛肠出血、肠瘘、孕妇及2岁以下小儿禁用。
用法用量
成人口服0.2～1g，每天3次。
药物相应作用
镁离子可与四环素类药物发生络合作用，形成不溶解的络合物，减少四环素类药的吸收。如必须使用两药，可间隔2～3h以上分开给药。
