药理作用　　

对75岁以上老人来说，此药吸收较快且峰值较高。药物的生物可用度有可能增加，部分病人的分布容积会减少。但药物的清除半衰期保持不变。
在肾功能不全时(透析或未透析)，由于本品游离部分增加，其弥散容积及清除率也会增加。对慢性肾功能不全，甚至严重肾功能不全(肌酸酐清除率为每分钟15～40ml)，没有不良影响。慢性心功能不全不影响本品的药物动力学。
适应症　　

(1)治疗高血压。
(2)用于治疗良性前列腺增生的某些功能性症状。
用法用量　　

(1)治疗高血压：口服本品2.5mg，降压作用至少维持12小时，长期治疗的日平均量为7.5～12.5mg，一日2次。
(2)治疗良性前列腺增生：每次1片(2.5mg)，每天3次。所有老年病人(年龄超过65岁者)，均应慎用此药，即最初服用量应早晚各1片，最多可增至每天10mg。
(3)肾功能不全病人，为慎重起见，初始服用量为每次1片(2.5mg)，每天2次，随后按临床反应调整剂量。
(4)轻度及中度肝功能不全的病人服用量从每天1次1片(2.5mg)开始，随后按临床反应增至每天2次，每次1片(2.5mg)。

禁用慎用　　

对α-受体阻滞剂过敏的病人禁用本品。
正在服用抗高血压药物的病人应慎重使用本品。对冠心病人，不应单独的服用本品，应继续对冠状动脉供血不全进行特殊治疗。如果心绞痛复发或加重时，应停用本品。
给药说明　　

当使用大剂量或用于高血压病人时，在服药后数小时内可能会发生直立性低血压，且可能提前发生一些先兆症状(眩晕、乏力、发汗)。在此种情形下，病人应该躺下，直至这些症状完全消失为止。这些作用是暂时的，在减少服用量后，通常不影响继续治疗。应该对病人预先说明这些可能发生的症状。
不良反应　　

下列不良反应常见：
胃肠紊乱(恶心、胃痛、腹泻)，昏厥现象(眩晕、头昏眼花或昏厥)，头痛。
下列现象较少见：
口干、心动过速、胸痛、虚弱无力、困倦、皮疹、瘙痒、颜面潮红。
药物相互作用　　

与下列药物合用可能会产生剧烈的药物相互作用而引起低血压：其它α-受体阻滞剂如哌唑嗪(Prazosin)、特拉唑嗪(Terazosin)等；钙拮抗剂如心痛定、双苯吡乙胺、硫氮卓酮、异搏定、硝吡胺甲酯、硝吡乙甲酯。
服用本品的病人进行全身麻醉时会引起血压不稳定。

Uroxatral Description
Uroxatral is used in the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). This is a form of medication known as an alpha-blocker. There may be other conditions where Uroxatral is a good choice of medication for you and so do not be surprised if your doctor prescribes you this medication for another condition. However you can expect a full explanation for why he or she has done so.

Uroxatral Directions
As is the case with all drugs, it is vital that you carefully follow the instructions given to you by your doctor. In most cases this will be written on the label of the medicine bottle or box and you must read this information very carefully. You must not crush, break or chew this medicine and should instead swallow it whole with a glass of water. Uroxatral Cautions
First and foremost you should not take Uroxatral if you have experienced an allergic or other adverse reaction to it or any other ingredient that is used in the production of Uroxatral. Uroxatral Side Effects
As is the case with most drugs Uroxatral is not without its side effects. Some of the things that you may notice when taking this medication include: lightheadedness, headache, or dizziness. These may be minor and go away during the course of treatment, however if they do bother you then you must talk to your doctor. However these symptoms should not cause you major discomfort and if this is the case then please talk to your doctor.
