It is commonly used to treat bronchial asthma. This medicine is not designed to rapidly alleviate already occurring asthma attacks or symptoms. Before using this medicine, tell your doctor/pharmacist If you ever experienced any allergic reaction (itch, rash etc.) to any medicine. If you are a patient with liver damage. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding. If you are using any other prescription or nonprescription (OTC) medicine. (It is important to reduce the risk of drug interactions.) Dosage regimen (proper use of this medicine) Your dosage regimen is:(order of your doctor) General dosage regimen: For children, take 0.06 g per kg of body weight (equivalent to 3mg/kg body weight of suplatast tosilate) twice daily after breakfast and dinner by dissolving the medicine in water just before use. The dose can be decreased or increased according to the patient's age and condition, however daily dosage should not exceed 6 g (300mg) of dry syrup. Strictly follow the instructions of your doctor/pharmacist. If you do not dissolve it, drink the powder with a cup of water. take the medication as soon as you remember. However, if you remember your medicine at a point close to the time for the next dose, skip one dose and proceed with the prescribed schedule of medication starting from the next dose. DO NOT take a double dose to make up for the missed dose. Overdose: If you took too much of this medicine (more than ordered), check with your doctor/pharmacist. Others: Do not stop taking your medicine without the instructions of your doctor. In the case of children, understanding by parents of the proper use of this medication and parental supervision are needed. Side effects of this medicine Common side effects are reported as below. If any of them occurs, check with your doctor/pharmacist: nose bleeding, stomach discomfort, nausea, sleepiness, rash. In rare cases, symptoms described below may be the sign of side effects indicated in brackets [ ]. If they occur, stop taking your medicine and check with your doctor immediately. tiredness, appetite loss, fever, nausea[hepatic dysfunction] decrease of urinary output, swelling (general), difficult breathing[nephrotic syndrome] Other side effects not listed here may occur.
